Devon Giguere enters the Jr. Showcase Tournament

16 year old goalie sensation Devon Giguere has entered into the Jr. Showcase Tournament after being drafted by Team Clue. This will be many VHLM's scouts chance to get a good look at Giguere when faced against other bright prospects. As it stands now, it's hard for scouts to really pinpoint where he goes in the draft, but this could be his opportunity to be the first goalie on every scout's list. 

 

According to reports, Giguere is a whopping 203 cms and 104 kgs, so he has size to protect the net in front of him. He may not be the most agile goalie, but he uses his size to his advantage and is quick into the butterfly. Giguere's rebound control is matched by his ability to recover over making a save. Finally, many have pointed out his amazing hand speed. Even when going down into the butterfly, he is able to get a glove or blocker up in time. It's arguable that Giguere has the ceiling of being an VHL starter and it'll be interesting to see how he fares in his first game in the Jr. Showcase Tournament.
