TopTiddee2 186
As the VHLM Draft is right around the corner, teams are looking to fill in slots to make their team more competitive and to get newer players prepared for the next level. One player who is gearing up for his first season is C Jeid Rohnson, an offense-first forward from the Isle of Man. While Jeid could benefit from playing for any team, these teams are Center hungry and could use a player like Rohnson. HALIFAX 21st Team Fit: B+ Halifax is coming off a playoff season, one that found them getting eliminated early. Now that the offseason has come into full swing, the 21st are now carrying only 3 players to their roster. With the experience that Jeid carries (with not being a first gen), the 21st can expect Rohnson to produce immediately at the start of the season. Pairing Rohnson with RW Damon Tusha and LW Quinndillus Whopper would be an excellent start to Rohnson's career due to the experience both carry. Halifax could spend their 2nds or a 3rd to pursue Rohnson if he does fall down far. HOUSTON BULLS Team Fit: C Houston were first-round exits in S88, and they are looking to avoid that come S89. Rohnson would be a great fit for the Bulls as Houston boasts some players who are nearing the cutoff for TPA. One player that sticks out is C Grunkle Stan-dingyouup, as he has amassed 200 TPA and will easily get first-line minutes with the Bulls next season. Having him on the roster allows Rohnson to develop in his first year while juggling middle line minutes. While Rohnson would obviously prefer 1st line minutes, he has plenty of development to do before making that big splash for the Bulls. MEXICO CITY KINGS Team Fit: C- Mexico City found themselves in the Founder's Cup Final, and rightfully so. The Kings hold 6 forwards with over 100 TPE, an excellent situation for Jeid Rohnson to fit into. It allows him to develop on the lower lines while the higher TPA players do the more dirty work of pushing this team over the top. Mexico City gives Rohnson one of the best chances to win the Founder's Cup in his first year, but he won't be getting a lot of time due to the loaded talent already clogging up the middle. MC holds all of their picks, and Rohnson may be that perfect selection as the later rounds roll around. OTTAWA LYNX Team Fit: A- Ottawa missed out on the playoffs last season, but they look to bounce back with two RWs returning for next season in Lucky Mitts and Harry Callahan. The Lynx hold a lot of picks, so this could become their year depending on how well they draft around the team, especially if they select Rohnson who is looking to become that Franchise cornerstone. With enough supporting pieces and having two wingers who could support him in his development, Rohnson could easily take that next step with the potential that Ottawa holds for their future. PHILADELPHIA REAPERS Team Fit: C Philly won the Founder's Cup last season, and are now looking to reload with young talent looking to win now. With C Anthony Simmons returning, Rohnson can be immediately plugged into the middle lines and can develop behind him. Philly only holds 4 picks this draft, so they may need to splurge in Free Agency for those remaining roster spots, but Rohnson can benefit immediately and has a chance to win the Founder's Cup in his first year if the Reapers select him. While Rohnson is happy to join any team that selects him, the teams I highlighted in this post are ones that are most C hungry. Pifferfish 597
Cool post, but I will point out Simmons actually doesn't have any FO so he is really a winger. And we would love to have you lol Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/136667-what-vhlm-teams-would-benefit-from-jeid-rohnson/#findComment-985545 Share on other sites
