Fradin99 96
Just prior to his first game in the VHLE, Massachusetts native Fradin McGryer had been informed a trade was in the works to send him out of Vasteras. The second overall pick was still expected to take the ice for the top pairing and power play for his two games of the sim, and did he make the most of it. McGryer is a player who established himself with his physical play in the VHLM for the San Diego Marlins. So it should come to no surprise that he put up a whopping 16 hits in his first two games of the season. Well ahead of anyone below him. Now this might've just been letting some steam off from being traded so soon, but how long he uses that motivation is still to be determined. Physicality aside, McGryer put up 4 points as well as 9 shots blocked. Before leaving for Vasteras he told reporters he was working on his two-way play, and this could be a sign of things to come. The details of the trade have not yet been released to reporters at this time, but we do know he is bound for Geneva. McGryer was spotted leaving the arena right after his second game after being approached by his coaching staff in Vasteras as well as his former Marlins teammate and future Calgary teammate, Shubham Anand. Fradin made it clear he was intending to leave for the Rush that night. It's worth noting he will be their youngest defender on their VHLE roster, meaning he will have several VHLE veterans to help further enhance his play. Can this defenseman push Geneva over the edge to playoff victory? Maybe it's too early to tell, but it's certainly a story to watch. 293 words for 6/18/23 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/137268-mcgryer-to-geneva/ Share on other sites
