Ahead of the game against Cologne, Geneva defenseman Fradin McGryer was seen around the streets of the German city with former Marlins teammate Keegan Gamble. The two were seen constantly stopping for pictures, signings, and even recording TikToks with young fans of their respective VHLE clubs and even the rare Marlin. One reporter got the chance to grab a statement from Fradin at a local coffee shop, the Café Buur.

"..It's great to see my friend again. Of course we're not so friendly on the ice, but that's just our compete level. We've actually a lot in common despite being from such different areas. In San Diego, our love of animals was a big bonding point between the two of us. It's important to take the time to see the off ice version of the players even if you're no longer teammates. Some people look at this sport as pure numbers and analytics. And those guys make things a bit dehumanized in my eyes. Keegs is a great person off and on the ice it's just..well. His coffee selection could use some work."

These two players finished their day out before the game with some skating drills along with a few younger players in Cologne's youth leagues. Perhaps not the best influence, McGryer was seen teaching some of the young players how to properly throw the body. But, what else would you expect from one of the more physical players in the league?
