DIDIER VERHAULT

PROFESSIONAL DEBUT

After arriving with the club on July 8th, Didier's first batch of expected games were unfortunately delayed by airport mismanagement which caused the majority of his hockey gear and most notably, his stick, to have been left in Belgium. This mistake was corrected within a day, but Didier was displeased, losing games which he considered critical to his career in the Victory Hockey League Minors.

After getting his stick at the airport, Didier was finally added to the Defensive lines of the Mexico City Kings, and prepared to make his professional debut against the San Diego Marlins. Inserted along the second defensive line, Didier's main line mate would be stud Defenseman Conference Prince-de-Gall.

FIRST PERIOD

Beginning in the first period, Didier wouldn't exactly set his debut aflame, sending a pass wild along the boards for an icing call as his first puck action in the Victory Hockey League Minors. Didier would also be placed along multiple Penalty Kill lines for the Kings, playing a notable role in killing two penalties with the Kings later that night. After taking a large hit from Eric White Jr, Didier would have a relatively quiet first period of his Minors career.

SECOND PERIOD

The Kings entered the second period down a score of 2-0 to the Marlins, who had a noticeable point lead over Mexico City heading into the match-up. Shortly after the Kings grabbed a puck in net to cut the lead to a single goal, Didier would deliver a huge hit on Tyrece the Beast, securing the puck for his team. After this hit Didier would once again nearly disappear for the remainder of the period, providing stable level play but nothing extraordinary.

THIRD PERIOD

Unknown to the Kings and Didier Verhault, the third period of his debut game would be his most important by far. 11 minutes into the Period, Steven McDard delivers the go ahead goal putting the Kings up by a goal, with Didier recording the primary assist for his first career point in the Victory Hockey League minors. The Kings would close out the score, with Didier recording a point, 3 hits, and 1 shot blocked. This game reflected Didier's natural checking ability and physicality, clearly translating to the next level as he begins his jounrey in the Victory Hockey League minors.
