Sjin

Rookie Experience

It has been a long journey for Sjin to make it this far. Originally had his sights set on breaking the VHLM scoring record to an abrupt rule change that forced him up through the leagues. Having joined the league so late after his original draft, after being selected 25th overall by the Malmo Nighthawks back all the way in S86, Sjin was able to select the franchise he wished to play for. There was no better option than London United being able to play on home soil whilst also under management of his former San Diego Marlins GM Jacob Carson. The first time Sjin will step onto the ice in the big leagues will be amongst some of the greatest players in the league currently sporting the United jersey including Molly the Cat, Wayne Kerr, Leonard Triller and Jesse Teno. London United being on of the favourites going into the season puts a lot of pressure on Sjin to perform and ensure the team can reach expectations set on them. Sjin knows how to win though, having won the Founders cup in S86 and S89 then going on to win the Renaissance cup the following season in S90 he is a player that knows how to win and has the taste of winning fresh in his mouth but it will be no easy task against the greats.

Playing in the VHLM was one of the best experiences of Sjin's career originally having planned being a VHLM but due to an unforeseen rule change, although learnt an awful lot from the management of my VHLM GMs Jacob Carson and Arce who were extremely good mentors teaching all the required skills and making sure he settled into the league well, Sjin spent 6 seasons in the VHLM where he was able to amass 467 points in only 380 games so an extremely impressive resume that alongside the 2 Founders cups currently under his belt. The skills gained and the friends made in this league are extremely valuable and will stick with him throughout the rest of his VHL journey moving forward in the future.

Onto to playing in the VHLE where Sjin played for the team he himself managed the Cologne Express, at the beginning of the season thought to be in contention for first place the team however massively underperformed during the regular season finishing 4th and just scraping into the play offs. Despite this Sjin was still able to lead the team and was a top scorer in the relatively lower scoring season, he was able to amass 86 points in 72 games consisting of 37 goals and 49 assists. Due to the placement in the standings however it meant they would have to face the number 1 seed in the first round which was no easy task the Vasteras Iron Eagles had been dominant all season long. The team banded together and was able to overcome this titan in just 5 games, then leading onto the finals where Sjin had an extremely dominant performance leading by example and lead the team in scoring once against to their 2nd Renaissance cup in as many seasons.

There's still a lot of Sjins story untold but we will see how the next few seasons play out and whether he can pick up anymore Championships throughout his career back under leadership of Jacob once again it is definitely possible!
