Moderator Tetricide 694 Posted January 16 Moderator Share Posted January 16 Hey everyone! I know I'm a bit late on these awards, but I may or may not have totally forgotten about them... Season 91 may have been my worst season yet as a GM, but I still had a great crew of players that made it so much better. Alright, let's not delay this any further -- here are your award winners! Yun Chiang Award (Most Goals) Matthew Highmore @NineIQ v2 Our now captain scored 46 goals in season 91! Absolutely instrumental in Miami sneaking into the playoffs. Igor Molotov Award (Most Assists) Matthew Highmore Highmore was also the leader in most assists at 49, nearly breaking 100 points total for the season at 95! Matty Fire Award (Best Two-Way Forward) Matthew Highmore Okay, let me explain myself. It was a tough one to choose between Highmore and Kel Varnsen, and Varnsen's stats were for only 28 games before he went IA. So, I determined that a player needed to play at least half a season (36 games) to be eligible for fairness. I really wish I could've seen his potential at a full season, and I hope I see him return in the near future! Highmore's stats: 72GP, 46G/49A/95P, +22, 33PIM, 108 hits, 45 SB, 12 powerplay points. Omi Aberg Award (Best Mid-Season Signing) Joe Shmo @matt sovick S91 was not our best season for quantity during the mid-season and TDL signings, but we certainly got QUALITY players! Joe Shmo, who is also now drafted to Miami, would go on to have the best stats among the active mid-season signed players. Shmo's stats: 32GP, 17G/21A/38P, -5, 10 PIM, 85 hits, 16 SB, 6 powerplay points. Lionel Collberg Award (Best Defenseman) Petit Hughie @Sen Ahh... Petit Hughie. The spicy North Korean who was an absolute unit on the ice. I don't think much needs to be said when he is also the recipient of the Ryan Sullivan Trophy (best defenseman). Let the stats speak for him. Hughie's stats: 72GP, 13G/70A/83P, -9, 66 PIM, 219 hits, 157 SB, 17 powerplay points. Most Valuable Pirate (MVP) Matthew Highmore And it's not because he's listed 3 times! It was really mostly a tie between Highmore and Hughie as both were in the top tier of the team as far as stats and gameplay goes. To me, the slight edge goes to Highmore for the much-needed defense (on top of his already amazing offense) we needed as we had only one for most of the season. That's obviously not to discount all of Hughie's efforts! Practically a one man show on the defense, but as the saying goes there's no " i " in team and Highmore made sure Hughie wasn't left out there by himself. That concludes the season 91 Miami Marauders awards ceremony! Congrats to all recipients, and I wish everyone on the current roster good luck for season 92!
