Moderator samx 1,173 Posted March 3 Moderator Share Posted March 3 Hello and welcome back to another installment of the prospect review. This is where we look at some upcoming prospects in the VHLM and do our best to give you the most accurate information we have available to us about these prospects. For today's installment, we will be looking at former Las Vegas Aces player: Pombo. Name: Pombo Position: LW Height: 72 inches Weight: 225 Pounds Pombo has yet to have much of a career in the vhlm as he has only played 20 regular-season games when he joined the Las Vegas Aces on waivers late in the season. It was not his best showing as he tried to adjust to the new league. He struggled to do well on either end of the ice. He had 1 point in those 20 regular season games as well as 1 point in Vegas' push in the playoffs that lasted 14 games. We think that this rough start will have taught him alot about what he needs to work on this offseason. Sometimes you need to struggle before you can do well. Enough about this season lets talk about some pros and cons of him as a whole. Pros: 1. He is a hard worker. He wants to help the team and will put in all the effort he can to make that possible. He works hard even when no one else is watching. He strives to be a leader for his team in the effort he puts forth each day at practice. 2. He is a leader on and off the ice. He isn’t always the most chatty guy but he leads by example. He is always on time for practices and meetings, continuously works hard, and helps out his teammates in whatever way he can. We have heard from past coaches that they can almost rely on him as another assistant coach. He is just that good at helping out the team. Cons: 1. He gets in his own head. He has a hard time refocusing after a bad shift or a bad game. He tends to be caught up in his own mistakes and therefore makes more mistakes as a result. This has proven to be very detrimental in previous big games. 2. Another con is that he has a short temper. He can quickly get mad at the refs and get himself put in the penalty box. It is a trait he has been working on getting better at but is still often a struggle for him He can let his frustrations with the game get the best of him and therefore land himself in the penalty box with bad penalties putting his team down a man in crucial situations. That has been this installment of the prospect review. We hope you enjoyed it and we will see you next time!
