As the Halifax 21st embarked on their playoff run in season 93, eyes were on the towering mongolian figure of Dorji Khan. Standing at an imposing 6’8" and weighing 240lbs , Dorji was a force to be reckoned with on the ice. His journey from a free agent to a key player for the Halifax 21st is a testament to his dedication and skill. His past experience in the playoffs after winning the Founder's cup with Philadelphia, surely helped push his limits during the s93 playoffs.

In the s92 playoffs, Khan who is known for his physical gameplay and sharp shooting, was a late addition to the team but quickly made his presence felt. His performance during the late regular season was a prelude to the impact he would have in the playoffs. Despite being a newcomer, Khan’s efforts and contributions were pivotal in Philadelphia reaper’s push through the playoffs.

Then drafted by Halifax 21st for S93, Dorji slowly developed his game in more of a 2way forward. The Mongolian giant worked hard every presence on the ice and constantly tried to contribute putting the team before anything else. He didn’t get the points he was hoping for but his efforts were endless and he would do anything in order to make the team win. He is considered to be a workhorse for Halifax and getting the new nickname “ The Mongolian Stallion “ By the end of the season he was getting trusted by the coach and was playing on the PK.

The season 93 playoffs were a rollercoaster for the Halifax 21st. After a challenging start in round 2 against the Saskatoon Wild, the team found themselves in a do or die situation. It was during these high-pressure games that Khan’s value shone brightest. Although the Halifax 21st playoff run did not end with a championship, the strides they made were significant. Khan’s performance was nothing short of inspiring and his growth as a player was evident. The Mongolian stallion as he was now known, had not only claimed a spot on the team but also in the hearts of the Halifax fans.

Shortly after the S93 was over, Dorji Khan was drafted by Brigade for the JST (Junior Showcase Tournament)  and was recently named as Captain of the team. Though it was a surprise to him since he isn’t the most skilled player on the team, his presence is definitely felt on the ice and seemed to be a determining factor for this decision. The Mongolian giant with a heart that bleeds for his team will do everything he can to effectively push his team to get the best out of them all.

Dorji Khan will continue to work on himself in the offseason as the beast continues to be unleashed. As for how the Halifax 21st look ahead to the next season, they do so with the confidence that players like Dorji Khan will continue to develop and contribute to the team’s success. Khan’s journey is far from over, and if this season is anything to go by, the future is bright for both him and the Halifax 21st
