Welcome to the VHL!

Let me start this by stating I am not a VHL staff member, I am not an affiliate of the VHL in any way, there will likely be issues here and there, I am confident others will correct in the comments, so please also read those! However! Welcome to the VHL! For those who are just browsing to find out how to create a player! It is quite simple, click the "Create A Player" tab right next to Browse and you will be directed by the website from there. For those who are looking for some insight into how the VHL works, that will all be explained below, enjoy!

Starting Your Player:

In the VHL, you have the option to choose between 3 different player types, 5 player classes, and hundreds of player layouts. To start, you have Offensive Players, these will be the guys who attack the other goal, and try to shoot that puck for 1 sweet sweet point. In the offensive player listing, you can either be a Center, Left Wing, or Right Wing. These positions will be played exactly as stated, with the center being the guy who will assist both sides and coordinate the offense and the Wingmen communicating with the center to ensure the puck gets into the goal. On the defensive side, you will be protecting the other goal, and getting the puck back up to offensive players. You can also choose to be a Goalie and protect the goal from incoming pucks. Your player choice is completely up to you and no matter what you choose you will still have an amazing experience in the VHL!

I got TPE?:
In the VHL, the main simulation comes from this thing called "Total Points Earned" and "Total Points Applied" more affectionately known as TPE and TPA. TPE is a way to upgrade your player's statistics, whether that be puckhandling, skating, power, aggressiveness, speed, etc. There are many ways to play your player, with every player having their respective benefits and issues. When you first start in the VHL, you will be given a base amount of TPE, that you are free to spend on any of the skills that your player may upgrade. As you go on, your player will start to become better and better in the simulations. This then raises the question, "How do I get TPE?"

Getting TPE:
The best way to get frequent TPE is to claim capped TPE. Capped TPE can come from forum posts like this, with every 500 words being 1 week's worth of TPE. You can also create a podcast, with every 15 minutes being a week's worth of TPE. Or you can create graphics/videos to gain 1 week's worth of TPE. If you consistently do these base tasks you can claim 6 TPE per week. However, capped TPE can give 12 per week! How do you claim the other 6? Well, after a season starts, the AGM of a team will post a Press Conference for all members to answer, this will give you 2 more points per week, making it 8! You will also get trivia questions, allowing for another 2 points per week! Leading to a total of 10 per week. If you are to claim Welfare and Pension, this is the most per week you can claim, however, if you don't claim Welfare and Pension, you can get another 2 per week by doing game breakdowns/reviews after a simulation of a game. You can claim 1 per game, maxing out at 2 per week!

Let's say you are incredibly lazy, however, and don't want to spend the time to write out all of this. Or simply just don't have that time. Thats okay! The VHL provides weekly practice facility TPE giving you 2 per week, and James Welfare Pension giving you 4 per week. Leaving you with 6 per week by simply pressing a button! However, there is even more you can do with a little bit of effort. You may have noticed I have said "Capped" TPE, leading me to the infamous "Uncapped" TPE. You can do many activities surrounding your player to claim uncapped TPE to bring in even more skill points! For more information on gaining TPE please read Ricer's Amazing post on TPE and how to get it, it will be pinned in the same section this post is in.

I'm not on a team!:
Joining a team is a vital part of being in the VHL! It's the main part of it! Being on a team is a great way to make friends and get invested in the VHL community. Joining a team is also a great way to meet amazing GMs and AGMs who will do their best to assist you and your journey in the VHL. Without further ado, let's talk about getting you on a team! When you create a player, and develop it, you will be placed as a free agent, that free agent will be placed into a draft portion of the VHL where many teams can pick you, once a season. You need to join before the season draft unless you want to wait a whole 'nother season. You will get DMed or a message once drafted! Stay active and eventually, you will be able to rank up to the VHLE and then officially the VHL!

Best of luck my friends and I hope this helped even in the slightest! ❤️
For future reference here is some information about Leagues and Teams!

VHL - The Pros league 400-500+ TPE required

If you are interested in GMing but you are brand new, play around in the VHL for a couple of seasons before applying for an AGM or GM position! Watch the jobs portion of the VHL forum to gain more information on that! You guys will do amazing! And like I said, please read the comments cause I know I am going to get corrected and the people correcting me definitely know more than I do! Enjoy your time in the VHL and best of luck.
