dylanjj37 342
Manny Ceson, a future VHLM star who is in this season’s draft, is not just a star on the ice. He is also known for his hard work off ice, particularly his charity work and fundraising. Shortly before his move back to Vegas, he heard about a poor little old lady who was unable to afford any footwear. As someone who wears footwear almost every day, Manny felt that something had to be done and he had to help the elderly woman to get some for herself. Manny decided to try and fundraise enough money to buy the woman a whole new wardrobe’s worth of shoes. However, he knew that it would be very expensive as she had none at all and people need lots of different types of footwear. He got in touch with the Halifax 21st AGM, Ace Wilde, and asked if he could hold a fundraiser at one of the 21st’s home games. Ace Wilde, a very philanthropic person themselves, was more than willing to allow Manny to hold an event at as many home games as needed to raise enough money. A bake sale was organised, filled with the Halifax players’ favourite cakes and also with cakes made by the players themselves. This included soft and filled cookies baked lovingly by Meghan Dancalot, a particular favourite of hers, and also a truck load of doughnuts brought in by Dustin Moore, although only a handful remained after the team got their hands on them. Manny also arranged for all the other food stalls to be closed (except Shindogs) so that the cakes would be more popular. The bake sale completely sold out, even the mysterious soft and filled cookies, and raised enough money to buy dozens of pairs of shoes for the poor woman. But this wasn’t enough for Manny. He wanted to raise more money so that the lady could buy more shoes when she needed them as it seemed she also had a habit of losing all her shoes which would be no good. He contacted a Halifax legend, Juan Ceson, who he happened to know and arranged for a signed jersey of Juan’s to be auctioned off. Juan was very helpful and agreed to personalise the jersey for whoever won the auction. The bidding was fierce, with bidders from as far away as Mexico and Sweden. The jersey ended up raising the most money of any Halifax 21st jersey ever auctioned, won by a bidder from Las Vegas who claimed to be Juan Ceson’s biggest fan ever and who was President of the Juan Ceson Society, the leading Juan Ceson fan association. With the bake sale and the auction, Manny managed to raise enough money to buy an entire shoe shop for the little old lady from Halifax. He got his photo taken with her in front of the shop published in the local newspaper. Unfortunately, that very night after handing over the keys, the entire shop was burgled and all the shoes were stolen, leaving the elderly woman with no shoes once again. @diacope @LucyXpher ace_five_ and diacope 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/149571-manny-ceson-helps-a-little-old-lady/ Share on other sites

LucyXpher 1,580
This is hilarious, and honestly kinda sweet Who let the shop get burgled though? All that money raised and the Cesons couldn’t afford a security guard? diacope 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/149571-manny-ceson-helps-a-little-old-lady/#findComment-1032067 Share on other sites
