A Word With Kovalenko

The VHLM Dispersal draft has concluded and VHL.com had a chance to grab a quick interview with second round Mississauga Hounds pick Slava Kovalenko.

 

VHLC: Slava, thank you for taking a moment to speak with us after what's surely been a few days of waiting for you to find out where you were going to go. What are your initial thoughts about being selected by the Hounds and what do you think you can bring to the table for them?

 

SK: It's definitely been a bit nerve wracking, knowing that I was just going to have to wait and see what was going to happen. I had some good draft interviews with more than one team so coming into today, I genuinely had no idea what to expect but the Hounds were a team I had spoken with and I'm excited to get to work shoring up the blue line for them. I may not have the highest scoring numbers, but I can help keep the puck out of the net and also chip in when it's needed. I think my time in the Junior Showcase Tournament has also spoken well for me. I'm glad to be going to a team that clearly wants me there and I'm going to give my all this season. Go Hounds!
