Patrick Demko finds a new home

After living briefly in Bratislava with the Watchmen to learn about life in the VHLM, Patrick Demko geared up for the S41 VHLM dispersal draft and found a new home with his new team, the Yukon Rush.

 

“I’m liking it a lot so far,” said Demko. “I’ve gotten to know my teammates pretty quickly and we have a great group of guys. Hopefully are chemistry and equal success.”

 

Currently, Demko is expected to be on the top defensive pairing with the puck- moving defenseman, Brandon Holmes. Patrick still has a long way to go before he’ll be ready to play in the VHL, but he believes that playing with a defenseman of Holmes’ caliber would help him tremendously.

 

“He’s a good player,” he said. “He’s been around here a lot longer than I have. Hopefully we can build off each other and become better players as the season progresses.”

 

Although Demko’s knowledge of the VHLM isn't very extensive, he believes that the team will be successful next season.

 

“I like the character we possess,” he said. “I think we’ll do fine. We all have the same goal in mind [to win a championship], and we’re going to do everything in our power to make that goal a reality.”
