The playoffs began today for the VHLM and the Mississauga Hounds leaped out to a 2-0 start over their opponents, the Miami Marauders. The first game went to overtime, where the Hounds were able to seal the 4-3 victory over the Marauders but the second game saw Deadpanda putting up a shutout for a score of 2-0 in favor of the Hounds.

"We're really happy about our start today." said Hounds captain Slava Kovalenko after game two. "Even with going to overtime in the first game, we were able to hang in there and get it done and Deadpanda was amazing in game two, giving us that shutout. We have to keep working hard since the series hasn't ended yet. We're not going to start celebrating too early. There's too much left to achieve."

This will be Kovalenko's last playoff run in Mississauga before he joins the Warsaw Predators next season, having been drafted by them 6th overall in the Season 96 Draft and the defenseman seems well aware of the fact that he will have limited time to truly stamp his legacy for the Hounds before he sets off to Europe and to the VHL proper. Only time will tell how this series will end for him and his team.
