Offseason thoughts

With Season 96 now over and the championship decided I would have expected that it would be simple to come up with a topic for a Media Spot.  There are so many things that can be discussed, analyzed, reviewed, or simply just commented on that it really should be more of an issue of simplifying and keeping concise than finding words to fill the page. Yet for some reason or another I am having a tough time getting focused, stringing thoughts in my head and getting them down on the page.  Maybe it is an issue having too many things to discuss or that my brain is filled with all the non-VHL related things going on in my life.  Whatever it is I am now here, Saturday afternoon having to get this done as I know that I won’t have any other time before the week finishes. 

 

Can’t say that is the best introduction to one of my articles I generally call, Random Thoughts but it will do for now. I should also get into the bulk of the article before the person who must assess my ability to count this for points suggests that I didn’t write anything of substance. 

 

Thought One – Discord General Chat 

I have been trying to get on general chat a little more frequently but find it difficult to connect as there seems to be a constant level of tension between people.  Even when someone tries to lighten the conversation by bringing up a random topic (like food) the conversation keeps going back to the problem of the day.  Not sure there will ever be a cure for this, but it would be nice to have a general chat that was fun and interesting and maybe even positive. 

 

Thought Two – Holidays in the VHL 

This is one time of year that I enjoy in the VHL, the community regardless of what is going on comes together and does something good.  Hoping that this will continue this holiday season.  For those who put the work into planning tis every year I would like to say thank you.  Keep it up it is well worth it. 

 

Thought Three – Stepping down as GM 

This time of year, gets busy for me normally from a work perspective but this year for some reason there is added requirements.  I didn’t want my performance as GM to cause others to suffer so I thought it best to step down and let someone else put their all into it.  I may look at coming back at some time in the future but for now I will enjoy the simpler life of just running a player. 

 

Well, those are the three biggest thoughts I am having regarding lire in the VHL.  Hopefully by next week my head will be back in the space of writing a good article.  I expect it will be my normal offseason review of what topic I will pick as my overriding theme for the season but who knows for sure.  Anyway hope everyone who reads this has a great week and we will see next week.
