JCarson 744
The season 97 VHL draft happened last night and for the most part I didn’t care. Being in my third season with HC Davos Dynamo and no longer being a GM in the VHLM I found myself in a situation where the exact outcome of the draft meant extraordinarily little to me personally. Sure, I will get an opportunity at some point to play a few games with these players. It is an odd feeling knowing that this draft will have truly little bearing on my player. In the grand scheme of things it is a week draft year, with just less than 3 rounds being completed and some of those being long shots on players staying active. Now all that said I do know that the draft, or at least the first pick for Davos in the Draft held significance. It has been a topic of conversation for almost the entire season. Great lengths were made to position the draft selection in a place where one particular player could be acquired. And after all the discussions, after all the planning, after a last-minute panic, the plan was completed, and Ahma’s next defender came to Davos for their career. So, with that the season 97 Draft passed away into obscurity. Almost meaningless in the grand scheme of the VHL. Davos will remember for sure, but I expect very few others will. And so, we begin the slow progression towards season 100, and the inevitable celebration of the VHL. Sorry what was I talking about, I think I have forgotten.
