         Ryan Mantzz Scouting Report

            Position- RW

   Height- 6' 2"

   Weight- 215lbs

   Shoots- Left

   Age- 18

Ryan Mantzz signed to the Miami Marauders at about the halfway point of the season. In 34 games Mantzz put up 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points and a +10 rating. While the numbers might not stand out as anything special Mantzz has some areas to his game that make him a desirable draft target in his upcoming VHLM draft. Let's take a look at some pros and cons to his game.

PROS

1- Hockey IQ: Mantzz understands the game very well and can read plays well in the offensive zone as well as the defensive zone. With the puck he can find teammates with ease, and without the puck he is always finding the open areas to be for easy goals.

2- Skating: Mantzz has an explosive first few strides helping create separation between him and defenders helping win possession in tight spaces. Mantzz also has the speed to pull away from defense on the rush

3- Playmaking: Mantzz has top tier vision when it comes to finding open teammates around the net. Making him a valuable asset on the power play and 5 on 5 situations.

4- Discipline: In his 34 games this season Mantzz has 0 PIM showing teams that he can be counted on to not take any stupid penalties and not put his team in bad situations

CONS/Room for improvement

1- Shot blocking: in the 34 games he has played this season Mantzz only has 1 blocked shot which may be a red flag to coaches around the Leauge. He has made it a point to improve this part of his game in the off season

2- Can be knocked of puck easy: At 6'2" and 215 pounds Mantzz isn't small by any means but he has shown at times that he can get knocked off the puck pretty easily. Leading to turnovers in the offensive zone. Hitting the weight room this off season should be high on his priority list

3- Willingness to be psychical: Mantzz lacks the physical side of the game. He can be timid to go into corners at times and doesn't seem willing to go to the hard areas on the ice to grind out goals. A good off season hitting the weights should help Mantzz gain the confidence he needs to go into those dirty areas and help whatever team drafts him

Overall

While Ryan Mantzz has areas in his game he needs to improve he shows the mentality needed to make those improvements. He is a great player and has a lot of upside that will instantly help any team that is willing to take the chance on him in the draft. Mantzz is willing to do whatever it takes to make it to the next level and help his team win a championship
