New York Americans vs. Seattle Bears - Wildcard Matchup

The New York Americans took on the Seattle Bears in the wildcard matchup for the playoffs, a tough matchup for both the teams. Coming into the matchup, both teams have shown they have flashes where they can easily be the best team in the league, but they've also showed they can struggle a lot. The Americans coming in had their hopes high, as they believed they could make a run to the finals with this roster, however, that's not what ended up happening. The Americans would ultimately fall in 4 games to the Bears, losing the series 3-1. What really stings for the Americans, is they outshot the Bears in every single game, but just couldn't find the back of the net. George Richmond was able to put up 5 points in 4 games played, with 2 goals and 3 assists. He also was a +1 despite the loss, being the only plus on the roster in that series. "It for sure stings. It's tough going from a new team to the opposite end of the world, only then to lose in the wildcard matchup. I felt like I played some of my best hockey this season and even in the playoffs. Could I have scored more goals? Of course I could've, but you have to be realistic. Unfortunately, we just weren't the better team and we fell short. I need to step up my game another level if I want to help take this team far into the playoffs in the future. My career is starting to come to a close and I need to be able to leave my legacy on the ice, with whatever franchise it might be. Moving forward, I will take more accountability and voice my opinion to others, so that we can become the best version possible of the New York Americans. I love this team, I love the city, and I love the fans. They deserve a cup and I'm going to try to bring one to them." George Richmond had a fantastic season with NYA, tallying 103 points in the regular season, and then 5 in the playoffs. There are a lot of questions though for New York heading into next season, as nobody truly knows what the future for this team holds. Regardless, Richmond will continue to play his heart out for whatever team he is on, whether that be NYA, MOS, or another team. He loves the sport and wants to bring any franchise a championship trophy at the end of the season.

Interviewer: Do you regret leaving Moscow, as they are currently in the conference finals and look like they're going to make another cup run?

"I mean, I for sure miss some people in that organization. I had a lot of friends there and to leave them like that, it's tough. However, hockey is an entertainment business. You want to do the best thing you can to bring your franchise a championship, and if that means me leaving Moscow was the right move for them, I don't fault them for it at all. I'm glad they're doing very well and I hope my friend Bocage can win another cup. Regardless, I'm with New York now and I need to focus on what we have in store!"
