Well, the date is February 14th, as Shaw realizes that he will be lonely forever, he decides to reflect on his first season, looking at the highs, the lows, and just taking a snapshot of moment, and reflecting on the amazing year he just had. So, right off the bat, we see Shaw step into the role of a d-man, after getting traded for an amount of picks which can only be described as a “butt load”. Coming into the year, Shaw had high expectations for himself. For Shaw, he wanted to have a high quality rookie season. His goals was to be the best rookie defence man in the league, offensively or defensively. He wanted to at least make the playoffs this season, and best case scenario, win at least 1 award on the season. He realized that this was going to be a tall task, going from playing from playing with the two different quality of players in the leagues was going to be an absurd change for the young Indian, but he promised himself he’ll make this change as seamless as possible for him and his teammates. So, it’s game 1, and Shaw is as ready as he’s ever been. He tells his teammate retiring at the end of the season, who is also the son of his dad’s former teammate (funny how it works out @comrade cat), “I’m gonna do my all to win it for you brotha”. Shaw did get off to a slowish start, and first couple games, he was looking poor in the league. He felt like he wasn’t good enough, until he talked to the team manager @LucyXpher. They had a long talk, and at the end of the day, Shaw realized what he was doing wrong. He took it upon himself to improve his defence, even if that would sacrifice some of his offensive play. So he did, and it worked! Not only on the defensive side, but also on the offensive side Shaw improved as his confidence came back. Through the season, Shaw slowly improved, and by the end of this rookie regular season, he has 52 points in 72 games, tied for highest as a rookie d-man, and was tied for 8th in +/- along all players in the league. Moving a bit away from Shaw, you must look at the team itself. Absolute beautiful team, being there for Shaw the whole time, and this chemistry allowed for Malmo to win the league, nearly 10 points clear of all other teams, and a goal difference of nearly 120! Absolutely dream regular season for Shaw, though I’m sure he would’ve preferred a bit better offensive season, but I’m sure he wouldn’t mind with Malmo winning the league. The post-season, was, well poor from Shaw to say the least. Despite his great regular season, Shaw threw an absolute stinker in the playoffs, getting only 2 points in 7 games, and being simply a +1. This poor result from Shaw, along with other factors did result in Malmo crashing out in the first round, an unfortunate end to an amazing season, but Shaw will get better, and he will win it for his teammates, like he promised this season. Overall, the season was a cool B- from Shaw’s perspective, he knows he could do more and better, and he’s committed to be one of the damn best in the league in the near future. For Shaw, this was the moment he realized that he could heckle couples, so he went to annoy them, but he kept this reflection in mind, and knew he had to do better, all while screaming “another girl? Nice stuff man” at random people on the street. Until then, this is Narnia Shaw, signing off, until next time.

Seriously, an impressive rookie season and I'm really glad we were able to add you last offseason!  You absolutely exceeded any expectations I had, so congrats on a great start to your VHL player career! 🙏
