After a pretty interesting season for Slava and myself, there's really only onward and upward to go from here. At least, that's what I'm going to hope.

I was diagnosed with type two diabetes recently and that's been a lot to wrap the brain around, but I feel like I'm at least on a good path. I was able to meet with a dietician, who had some really helpful handouts for me as well as some other things that I could give my dad (as he's the one who prepares and cooks most of the food in our house).

I ordered a stationary bike and that arrived today, and I was able to put it all together myself. With that and really taking care with what I eat, I should be able to lose some weight, which would please my doctor. Already, with just changing my diet, I'm getting pretty close to having lost 10 pounds already. I've made myself a deal that if I can get to 20, then I'm going to allow myself to get a newer and smaller Sounders jersey for myself since they just came out with some new, really cool ones. It's still something I'm adjusting to, but I can do this.

As someone who is yet to come away with this bad news that I am told is very likely coming my way in the future (bad genetics and an EXTREMELY poor diet) I can say it's so scary to think about the potential of that. Sorry it's become your reality but glad to hear you have some of the proper supports to make that more doable. You got this dawg!
