The S97 ProAm is happening!

The five teams this tourney are the Baie-Comeau Beavers, the Winnipeg Wheelbarrows, the Flora Vista Foxes, the Pompeii Sour Grapes, and the Hartford Whalers. Looking at the spreadsheet, it seems as though there are a total of 66 current and former players who have entered the tournament.  With a total of 5 teams and a breakdown of 8 goalies, 25 blueliners, and the 33 forwards, this puts each team on pace to get something like 6 forwards, 5 defensemen, and a netminder or two, each.

The wild part of this tournament seems to be the wide range of TPE per player. For example—the available goalies include Lachlan Summers with his cool 1829 TPE. The next highest is Ash Sparks coming in at 1386 TPE.

It may be tempting to look at the range of TPE for the defensemen, but it's better to not think about the guys below 100 TPE (like yours truly, though this article does, in fact, bring me closer to that margin) who are going to get run all over by pro-caliber skaters.

All in all though, the draft is shaping up to be fun already and it ought to be a highly entertaining simulation!
