SMYLS4 200
Pelayo Bolivar made huge waves in the VHLM after being drafted 24th overall in the S96 draft. With 2 seasons under his belt and a pretty impressive statline that reads 144 GP 68 G 75 A and 143 PTS, Bolivar is ready and waiting to make his VHL debut. Bolivar was selected 7th overall in the S97 draft by the London Knights. As he enters his first season into the VHL, he is accompanied by fellow S97 1st overall Cash Carti. After a disappointing end to his final season in Halifax, losing in the Founder’s Cup Finals, Bolivar is looking to move on from this painful defeat and start fresh in a new city. This offseason Bolivar has been working on his defensive skills and faceoffs. Knowing very well he might not be the point scoring machine he was in the M, he hopes this extra work into his defensive play will help give him a bit of an edge when matched with higher skill and experienced veterans. The expectations for the United are not very high this season, as they are on the tail end of a rebuild. But fans are excited to see the two rookies take to the ice. Both will be competing to be the face of the franchise but together they very well may be a double edged sword cutting down their opponents in their way. The future is definitely bright in London with these two stars on the roster. If London can continue to add talent in key places there's no telling what this team could do. Bolivar hopes to continue his regular season success into his rookie season. Scoring 104 points will most certainly be impossible for the rookie, but he hopes to compete for the Rookie of the Year Award. Even if he doesn’t win the award his main goal is to help his team improve. It may be a few seasons before London sees significant progress but nonetheless Bolivar will continue to work day in and day out on his development in order to maximize his growth. Bolivar hopes to add a cup or if lucky maybe 2 to his trophy case and make a push for a seat in the Hall. Ambitions are high with Bolivar, maybe too high, but he believes he will be a great player in the VHL and hopefully he has a long and productive career ahead of him.
