Chad Powers Prospect Scouting Report

Chad was drafted by the Halifax 21st with the 16th pick of the season S96 VHLM draft, prior to the draft he was the backup goaltender for the finals winning Royals in the season 95 Junior Showcase Tournament. He has also been the goaltender for Team USA in the World Junior Championship in season 96 and 97, he has also been in the Pro-Am twice, first with the Baie-Christmas Beavers in season 96 and then as the backup for the Winnipeg Wheelbarrows in season 97. During his time with the Winnipeg Wheelbarrows he received the playoff MVP award for winning 3 straight games after Winnipeg went down 4-1 against the Pompeii Sour Grapes to secure the Gold. In his time with Halifax in seasons 96 and 97 he has reached the finals once and has a VHLM career .900 SV% and 8 shutouts

Pros:

Undoubtedly the most fashionable player on his team and potentially the league, his signature Pit VIpers are instantly recognizable as his trademark and he is currently a brand representative for Redbull™️, Zyn™️, Pit Vipers™️, Anheuser-Busch™️, and Northrop Grumman™️

Chad has an undefeatable attitude and truly believes that whatever team he is on is the best team in the league bar none, Chad has been quoted describing the S98 Halifax 21st as "The best there is, best there was, and best there ever will be".

As his career has gone on he has started to grow as a player going from just 8 wins in 21 starts in his first season to 45 wins in 63 starts (including 7 shutouts). The sky's the limit for Chad and he can only continue to get better.

Cons:

Chad needs to work on being more clutch and showing up when it matters most, his one finals appearance resulted in Halifax losing in 6 to the Las Vegas Aces where aside from one shutout Chad had a GAA of 2.6

Chad also needs to continue and focus on improvement to prepare for the VHL and his debut with Seattle, He has an entire season in the VHLM to help him prepare for this but it will rely on him being able to consistently improve.

Chad is a prima donna, when asked about this in a post game interview he simply asked the reporter "Don't you know who I think I am?". Chad also considers this to be the most unfortunate aspect of himself because he has to bear the burden of being as wonderful as he is, when asked about this he just said "It's lonely at the top".
