Introduction by Gary MacKenzie from Barndoor Defense Scouting:
"Look this guy Tariff, he doesn't score, he barely passes, doesn't want the puck on the offense, barely steps over the blue line but to keep it onside. But let me tell you nobody blocks shots like him! He stays back, he guards the net like it's Fort Knox. You are going to hear people say its boring, he's a boring hockey player. I'm going to say its smart, Very smart. The way he plays let you build your offense back to front, his partner can be a defensive liability and they aren't going to give up the breakaway. He's the best at doing nothing but defense. He's so defensive he argues with mirrors. He's got some grit to him, he gets down and blocks the shots nobody wants to block, but hes got the quiet confident leadership that every team wants in a player and hes got the defensive intangibles that make other teams hate him. That is how you win, this kid is a winner."

Tariff Puck projects to be a monstrous blueline presence at 6'5 237lbs. The twenty-one year old Canadian is stay at home defensemen with limited offensive potential, his offensive contributions will include a decent slap shot, average passive skills, but below average desire to be on the offensive end contributing. He skates backwards faster then he skates forwards his College coach jokes.
What he lacks for in offense he will doubly make up for in defense, he excels in clearing out the front of the night and blocking shots on power play units making him a desired defensive commodity for every team. He is a heavy hitter that requires all Centers and Wingers to keep their head on a swivel when accepting passes up the middle. If you chase a puck in deep you get a body check to go with it and he grinds down the offensive players with a continuous barrage of crushing hits.
As mentioned he projects to be a great skater for a defenseman that won't get blown by on defense, he does leave a little to be desired with his puck handling but that will develop as he gets used to the speed of the game but history shows he will want to get it off his stick as soon as possible.
With being physical in the corners will come the repercussions of hitting a few star players, but Tariff isn't afraid to drop the mitts and play the enforcer role if the bell rings and the teams needs someone to step up and answer the call he is the guy.

The retaliatory enforcement of Tariff's fists knows no borders they will not cross.
