Dadam30 219
Diego Adam is a goaltender born in Small Town and Manitoba, Canada. And being from Manitoba, the weather is usually cold all year round so it gives him all the time in the world to practice his trade and that being goaltending in hockey. Ever since he was a young boy, at the young age of four he learned how to skate and knew that he always wanted to be in the VHL. After learning How to skate Diego then decided to join into a minor Hockey League, where he First started playing player and the goaltender on his team got injured. He then decided to strap on the pads and never took them off the rest of his hockey career. Another reason why he decided to play goalie is because he noticed when he was a kid that the goalie never had his skate laps during practice and he hated skating laps. So he decided to play goalie to not skating laps later in life, learning that he was going to have to skate laps with that heavy equipment on anyways. Starting out, Diego wasn't the best goalie, but luckily he had his cousin Diego Machado. Who played in the VHL coming back home for the offseason, shooting pucks at him all off season, getting him trained up and ready for the time when he was ready to join the minor leagues in the VHL and hopefully make his name and statement in the VHL himself. But growing up with his cousin having shooting at him ,Half season definitely gave him the advantage of learning where to be and how to face those elite shots from as an elite player that was in the VHL for many seasons for the Toronto Legion. Diego really started to make a name for himself when he joined the AAA under 15 wheat kings where he would lead not only his team but the league and wins with 30 saves with over 900, goals against average with a 1.93 and shutouts with 10. It was at this moment after the season that scouts for the VHL started to take notice on the young goaltender. Inviting him to scouting camps for all the VHL M teams minus the Miami Marauders. Although Diego did not have the best showing, it did not deter the Scouts from looking at him for the next few seasons. The following season, Diego would join the Under 18 southwest cougars. Where he would continue to perform very strongly. Being an underage or in this very competitive league left him in the back of position for this season, even though like I said before, he did perform very strongly, he only managed to play 11 games Putting up a very admirable .910 save percentage And a 2.76 goals against average. The following season, he would steal the starting role from the. 18 year old goaltender. Putting up a. 23 game season. With a 922 save percentage and a 2.4 goals against average with 17 wins. After this season, he decided to take some time away from hockey and focus on himself. Where he enjoyed playing other sports such as soccer, baseball and football. Although he was not as good at these sports, he was definitely having a lot more fun playing them as he felt like hockey has turned into a job for himself. A few years later, he decided that it was time for him to start moving on with his life Without hockey, getting a job at Costco as a Cashier. Where he thought he would never have a chance to play professional hockey again. Luckily for him, there was a local senior team that was in in need of a goalie after an injury took out their starting goalie for the season. They reached out to Diego and Diego happily took them up on their offer and finished out the season. Although Diego did take some time off, the play that he managed to still have was an incredible. The passion that he showed for the game during his time playing Senior hockey brought back the drive and the love that Diego had for the game of hockey! With the play that he showed during the senior games made Diego think that he may be able to make the next jump to a higher level of hockey, that being the VHM. Fortunate for him, his cousin was the general manager of a VHLM hockey club known as the Saskatoon Wild Where Diego would contact his cousin asking for a chance to come to a couple skates and show that he belonged in the VHM. Diego's cousin Diego Machado agreed as they just traded off one of their goaltenders for draft picks for the upcoming draft. And needed a goalie to fill the role, so they gave him a trial spot for practice to see if he had what it takes to make it to the next level. And as we know now. He did.
