The skates could be heard on the ice. Players screaming. A shot It's saved! then a goal is scored for halifax. Well folks your Lynx end their season on a loss 5-2 but playoffs here they come!
-The regular season was over, but not just yet as they had playoffs- This would be a tough series as they would be playing the Houston Bulls. You could feel the nerves in the locker room before the big game 1. In Game 1 Houston would only beat ottawa 1-0 then the next game would be 5-0 which would be heartbreaking for Ottawa as they felt that game 1 was supposed to be a mood swing and hopefully get an upset win in Houston. Alas they travel back home, hoping to secure at least 1 win. This would not be the case as They would get another close loss 3-2. Which was heartbreaking for Ottawa as they were so close to forcing Ot, but Komi just couldn't save It. Then Game 4 their teams season on the line. the Bulls absolutely blow the Lynx out at home winning 8-1. As a save would be made by komi then he would hold onto it for a faceoff in their zone other team would win it, but nothing would generate as time would run out. Komi would just spread butterfly and put his mask into the ice. As teammates came over to pick him up and get to the locker room, as the fans would clap cheering on some of these young kids. 



Coach speaks, "guys understand how proud I am of this season. Believe me It's not how we wanted It to end by any means." Komi would undress out of his goalie gear just breathing heavy on the bench as Owen two the seasoned vet still in the minors came over. "look kid look at It this way. You've come a long way." Coach continues speaking "just understand I'm not mad, were in the minors guys. Were here to learn and grow as players within the game we all love so much. For some of you this may be your last years. For others this was only the beginning. You know were trying to build a winning culture here and we plan on continuing to do that. The Bulls just have a roster we just couldn't handle. It's simple as that." You could see the whole locker room just in disappointment. "Though understand this I saw your effort out there and truly believe we did the best we could with what we had. You better believe that. It's not the Cinderella run we dreamed in our heads before this moment. I'm sure for some of you including myself we just wanted to win 1. Just 1 and that would feel like an accomplishment." Now don't take that the wrong way guys. We just weren't the favorites to win. I love you all from the bottom of my heart now lets get in here and count us out." 1, 2, 3.  !!! LYNX" You could hear the silence in this locker room and just the pure anguish players felt. sure Houston was the better team, but the players hearts just wouldn't believe that. Though It was a reality. Komi would just stare at his goalie helmet as he would give it to the equipment manager to have cleaned and prepared for next season along with his jersey. As the Lynx walked out of the locker room they had a couple young fans wanting things signed which Komi obliged happily. His Agent Dusty was waiting outside the arena for Komi, which was unexpected. "Hey.. Dusty?" Dusty looks up from texting, "Hey man, I'm sorry about you guys losing, but I figured we needed to get you some pictures for your draft coming up man! Komi kinda shrugs, "Well could it at least wait?" Dusty thinks, "Sure why not, you want to go get something to eat then?" Komi smiles, "sure man, but let me meet you in my car there at the restaurant." Dusty nods -They go and have themselves a nice dinner to discuss Komi's next steps- Dusty orders a chicken Alfredo with Komi ordering a burger. They both laugh. Dusty speaks, "Fancy restaurant and were eating basic food haha." Komi smiles, "Well dang straight. It's my choice." Dusty waves it off, "I'm just messing. So, VHL draft coming up. You ready?" -Komi takes a bite after saying this- Komi thinks, "Definitely. I actually had some intent from a team already, but won't say who." Dusty smiles, "good thinking. Never give out that info. Can't ever be too safe." "Is there any team you want to go to?" Komi nods, "Any team who eventually needs a starting goalie." Dusty smiles, "I love your way of thinking, but don't think on It too much. A starting goalie position will come I promise." For now what do you feel went well this season for you? Komi says, "Definitely me improving my game all around and learning to try and get through those rough games I feel like was crucial to my development." Dusty smiles, "Now that's an answer. I'll say this I saw your confidence grow as a person too as I know you spent most of your time in Ottawa cooped up. Since you started chatting with me we've been checking out Ottawa for what It has to offer." Komi chimes in, "right. So let me ask what made you end up in Ottawa anyways?" Dusty says, "Well I was trying to get my agent career going and I knew the Ottawa coach, knew eventually some young kid would need some guidance." Komi speaks, "Naive kid?" Dusty gives a look, "definitely naive! Haha." Komi throws a napkin playfully at him, "Whatever man." Dusty looks back at him. "We have a lot to do though Draft suit and then networking ourselves getting Draft Interviews etc." Komi nods, "Yeah, you think I'll go decently high?" Dusty looks at this draft list that has been updated for VHL. "I'd say definitely to a team in dire need of a goalie. Someone will reach for you which is a good thing of course. always better to find a team quicker, then keep sitting in the green room to finally hear your name called." Komi nods again. "I like your thinking." 

Dusty would have Komi attending Events in Ottawa to outreach and get support for the team for the upcoming season, that even included Komi playing with kids out on a smaller rink playing goalie, though Dusty definitely was against this, luckily Komi didn't get hurt. **typical business practices** 
Well folks not to stretch It any further, but wow Komi Komal soon will be calling a vhl team his other home. Will he find a perfect match or will He have to scratch and crawl his way to the right situation. We'll find out soon enough! for now Komi has the Junior showcase to get ready for, to show his talents.

Great work on this article.  Always good to see a story from the players perspective, the ups the downs, the emotional roller coaster that is felt.  Enjoy the offseason tournaments, keep pushing for more training opportunities and you will find yourself in the VHL.  You will make a great addition to the VHL, there is always a need for goaltending.  Good luck on your journey.  I give this article a 8 out of 10, great job, keep it up.
