AJW 2,389
Bubbles LaFleur has officially finished his rookie season. The LA stars were unfortunate to not make the playoffs in S98, but as most could have predicted this was not a surprise. The team is still in a rebuild stage and has high hopes of become a playoff contender in the near future. The Stars currently have a core of defensive excellence. S95 Roger Eagles controls the crease while S97 Ricky LaFleur is an exciting rookie backup. The two may be considered the best goaltending duo in the league soon. On the blueline S97 Mikko Tuomala and S97 Bubbles LaFleur have a lot more years ahead of them, and both just came off impressive rookie seasons. The problem lies on the top 6 of the team, our forwards. While S94 Wally Lose has to carry most of the weight, he has no true line mates in the near future with only S97 Jacob Seed eligible for call up in S99. A young Bret Weier still has some development to do after completing his 2nd season in the VHL, and the Stars are without a true Center to play between them. After forfeiting the team’s 1st round pick last season, the current S99 3rd overall pick will be a big turning point for this franchise. S99 may be another year of playoff hopes down the drain, but with each season this team will be getting better and better.
