AJW 2,390
This morning a big trade was announced involving the Helsinki Titans and the Malmo Nighthawks. These two teams have been good trading buddies the past few seasons, but today was definitely one of their biggest trades made. Malmo received S97 defenseman Hugh Neutron, as well as S96 goaltender Draw Mac for in return a plethora of assets. Helsinki was able to add S93 goaltender Ondrej Vencko to their roster, and S94 centerman Robin Sierra to their prospect pipeline. In addition, Helsinki received three picks in this upcoming draft (4th overall, 14th overall, and 20th overall), plus Malmo's 2nd round pick in the S100 and S101 draft. Overall, it may seem like Helsinki received way more assets than Malmo. In my eyes, Malmo is right around the corner from exiting their current rebuild. Adding the highest TPE player in the S97 draft class as their new top defender, and adding a franchise goalie that they were lacking is two great pieces to the puzzle. The team already has S98 Cardinal Copia, S96 Xhekajs middletoe, and S96 Narnia Shaw who can all be seen as solid franchise players. Malmo's core of youth looks extremely strong entering the S100's, and it seems all the team needs now is a top centerman before being considered contenders again in the near future.
