Manhattan, NY -- The New York Americans continue their rebuilding process and the rebuilding may have progressed a tad with the announcement that the team owns the first overall pick in the season 44 VHL Entry Draft. Most scouts are projecting that Edwin Reencarnacion will be the first overall selection as he's already reached 258 practice hours. If the New York Americans were to pick Reencarncion first overall then the team would most likely call him up to the roster next season along with defenseman, Golden Jedtsson who's awaiting his chance to play in the post-season as his team has a first round bye and forward, Jorma Ruutu who's currently playing in the post-season for the Ottawa Lynx. The team could be in contention for a playoffs spot if the off-season would be a busy one for them. However, the rebuild's not over and unless the conference has a poor season then expect New York to be at the bottom of the standings again.
