Playoff Choker

After their game 6 clinching victory, we met with Bern Royals defenseman MC Hammer about his part in the Royals quest to the cup.

 

:interview: Hammer, in word, how would you describe your participation in this dominant playoff run that the Royals just completed.

 

Hammer: Useless.

 

:Interview: Why would you say that?

 

Hammer: Honestly, I was dreadful. I went from being the top point scoring defenseman to a waste of space out there. I had dominant numbers this season both in goals as well +/- and in general points.

 

:interview: What happened to you out there?

 

Hammer: I just think I choked and was over confident. I felt that the puck always bounced my way in the regular season where I outshone fellow S43 draftclass member Chuck Goody by out scoring him. However once playoffs came he was the one making me look like the wasted pick. It was frustrating and upsetting and I think it spiraled.

 

:Interview: As a member of the Reign there is talk that you guys may squeak into the playoffs. Your comments on that and what you may do differently/

 

Hammer: I think being out of the minors will make a huge difference. It will allow me to become more mature with a bunch of great players around me like simmons and faux. Hopefully I just can regain my regular season form both in next season and hopefully next playoffs.
