Pastrnak flies in low headed to S53 Draft

Recommended Posts

There seems to be a new winger headed to the internationally acclaimed VHL, and his name is Jakub Pastrnak. A leftie from the Czech Republic, Jakub spent most of his formative years on the ice, and as such, has grown into an exceptional skater. But his quick feet aren't the only thing picking up notice. "Hopefully I can find ice time," he comments in a small press conference in his home of Vyskov, just a few kilometers outside Brno. "I know I'm not strong or play good defense, but I hope my stick and skates can get me playing somewhere."

The winger plans on accentuating the precision aspects of hockey, working on his key strengths of Skating, Scoring, and Puck Handling. With this trio barrage comes a personal interest: the penalty shot. "I have watched the shootout for a long time now," Jakub mentions, "and I love the dance that goes on in those few seconds. It's one quick move and either the goalie wins the race or the skater makes his dance past the netminder to find twine. I hope to be the latter," he laughs. Hopefully this young Czech will find his way through the perilous world of professional hockey in the VHL.
