Las Vegas rookie center Rudi Ying has had a disappointing season so far with only nine goals and 33 points. He has been working hard in practice all year but has not seen these results translate to productive on-ice performance. His struggles are increasingly worrying as the S55 VHL Entry Draft approaches. Although some mock drafts have the Chinese forward pegged to go as early as the second pick, his current performance in the minor league does nothing to suggest to general managers that Ying will be a reliable piece at the VHL level. While it would be of a stretch by any means to see Ying falter and stumble out of the first round, it would not be surprising to see him drop to near the end of the first round at all. It is understood that Ying would like to play for a contending team right away, rather than being a part of a rebuild.
