Gudnason 607
With the roster selection deadline for the S54 World Cup roster fast approaching, only 41 players have been named to the preliminary rosters. Team Canada and Team Western Europe (not including the lack of a backup goaltender) are the only two teams to have finalized their roster, barring any last-minute changes, while Team Scandinavia and Team World have both named nine players so far. Team USA has yet to submit their rostser, while Team Mercenaries have an extended deadline to select their players as they take their pick of the unchosen. Currently, Stockholm and New York each have seven players who will participate in the World Cup this off-season, while Quebec City and Helsinki will each send six players to the biannual tournament despite being the favourites to meet in the Continental Cup Finals. VHLM team Las Vegas Aces is next in line with five players participating in the tournament, including Rusty Trombone, Takashi Fujimoto, Diego Jokinen, Felix Savard, and Luca Volkov. The Riga Reign will have three representatives at the tournament, while the only other VHL teams that will be represented at the tournament so far are the Seattle Bears (Aleksei Federov), Toronto Legion (Torstein Ironside), HC Davos Dynamo (mist4ke), and Cologne Express (Markus King). The VHLM is also represented by a further three players with Oslo's forward duo of Mattias Forsberg and Verner Reinholdt both getting the nod for Team Scandinavia and Yukon Rush goaltender Key Perought earning the starting job for Team Western Europe in net by default. At the time of writing, the Calgary Wranglers are the only team in the VHL that will not be represented at the World Cup. 7 - Stockholm, New York 6 - Quebec City, Helsinki 5 - Las Vegas 3 - Riga 2 - Oslo 1 - Yukon, Toronto, Seattle, Davos, Cologne Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/40579-las-vegas-and-vhlm-represents-at-the-world-cup/ Share on other sites
