Five seems to be the lucky number for the Las Vegas Aces so far as they defeated the Yukon Rush by a combined 10-4 scoreline in the best-of-3 wild card play-in series. The Aces followed up a 5-3 victory in game one with a 5-1 victory to seal their passage to the playoffs proper, where they will face the top-seeded Oslo Storm. While the Rush were able to sneak three goals past Shawn Brodeur in game one, the only mustered up eight shots on target. In game two, while Las Vegas limited Yukon to one goal, Brodeur was much busier as he had to face 23 shots. Vegas was also especially dominant in the faceoff dot, as they managed to win 82% of all draws. Sergei Komarov, Rask Rowe, and Rudi Ying lead the way for the Aces as their ability to have possession of the puck at the restart of play for the majority of the game lead to the subsequent dominance on the scoresheet.
