North American Conference

The first two spots in the North American Conference are set, with Quebec City and Toronto both having 89 points.  While the order may change before the end of the season, they have both punched their tickets to the playoffs already.  However, there is a battle brewing between New York and Seattle.  Seattle currently has the edge with 56 points over New York's 55.  The difference between the playoffs and no playoffs so far are overtime losses.  New York has one less win, but one more overtime loss than Seattle.  Seattle hopes to make the playoffs for the first time since Season 31.  New York, while rebuilding, is hoping to get some of their young guys like XXX and Conner Low some playoff experience.   If New York makes the playoffs, they could still have two of the top four picks in the upcoming draft, likely drafting #1 because of Calgary's horrible season.

PREDICTION: Seattle gets the final spot

European Conference

Both Davos and Helsinki will likely be occupying the top two spots in the European Conference, although they haven't claimed them yet.  The last spot seems to be between Vasteras and Cologne.  Cologne is currently in the start of their rebuilding phase, and Vasteras is hoping to be competing this season, but hasn't found any luck, despite the play of goaltender Bagelface.  There is just one point separating them, Cologne has 60 points, Vasteras has 59 points.  However, Cologne has played one more game than Vasteras so far.   While Cologne looked like they could possibly be one of the top teams in the league this season, they didn't get the wins they needed to do so.  Vasteras, on the other hand, virtually sold the farm for the pieces they thought they needed.  It will be interesting to see who comes out on top and who is left disappointed.

PREDICTION: Cologne shocks Vasteras
