Fire Tortorella 2,653
Reign to Act as Spoilers? It was known a long time ago that the Reign weren’t going to be in a position to even contend for the playoffs this season. Most of Season 36 could be looked at as a “throw away” or development season, but that all changes for at least one game at the end of the season. In 2 of the next 3 games, the Reign have the opportunity to act as a spoiler team and knock their opponent out of the playoff race. In their next match, Riga faces the Seattle Bears, a team with playoff aspirations at the beginning of the season who have had a mediocre campaign so far. After being out of a playoff spot for a large part of the season, the Bears recently took a 1 point lead on the New York Americans for the third spot in the North American Conference. With other games against the Meute and the Iron Eagles, this game against the Reign is close to a “must-win” for the Bears in order to solidify their playoff spot. With this game essentially being the Reign’s Continental Cup, you can expect a hard, 60 minute effort out of the Riga locker room.
