Ryuu on the Saskatoon Players

Saskatoon -- While Ryuu was here for the Reunion, we asked him about a few things. We asked him on his thoughts on Rylan Peace. "Rylan Peace is a definite stud. This dude is amazing on the ice. He's fast, can score, and will probably get more points and goals by game 40 than my points last year. I'm glad Riga drafted him and that nobody else got him because he would destroy me. This guy is gonna be the Rookie of the Year next season." Rylan Peace is 2nd in goals with 28, and 5th in points with 6th in the Victory Hockey League Minors. Peace is great offensively and a very major part of Saskatoon's success. He is the leader in points of the Saskatoon Wild. He had an amazing start last season, despite the fact he only played 34 games last year. He was expected to be good but not as good as he is now. "This guy has great aim and shooting skills, great stickhandler and awesome passing skills. He's got my vote for top goal scorer." Ryuu Crimson said about the young Right Wing. "One of the best Right Wings I've played with. This guy will definitely win an award. Probably will lift the Cup multiple times in his Victory Hockey League Career."

 

We also asked him about the Wild's acquisition of Brick Wahl. "I heard about that. That was an awesome acquisition. Wahl is a really good goalie and one of the best goalies in the Minors right now. He can stop pucks, and is so tall. Like really tall. You might remember I had 40 style shootout shots on him and I never scored a goal. And this dude is just a VHLM goalie. I mean, I'm not a superstar or anything but still impressive. I hope Wahl comes to Riga so I don't get embarrassed by him when I have to shoot on him. This guy is seriously so good."

 

Brick Wahl has been nothing short of impressive being 4th place in Save Percentage with 0.890 SV%, and 3rd place in Goals Against Average with 2.73 Goals Against Average. He has been a great goalie to watch. He has been a good goalie for the Saskatoon Wild. 

 

We also asked him about the defensemen Piotr Jerwa. "Jerwa is a really good defensemen, offensively and defensively. He is great. But my favourite defensemen is still Dylan Nguyen. I can't wait to see his future. He is a great player and will have a great career."

 

Jerwa is a strong offensive defensemen and 2nd place in Defensemen Points. He also has 60 Shots Blocked and has been really impressive on the blueline with fellow First Line defensemen Toby Fitzgerald, who has also been impressive on defense, a great player who hits hard and constantly. Jerwa may not hit hard but Fitzgerald helps him in that compartment. 

 

The Saskatoon Wild have been phenomenal thanks to the young stars that they have gotten. Peace, Jerwa, Fitzgerald, and Wahl have been major contributors and we can see bright futures ahead of them. "Good luck to all those guys and I hope you all join Riga."
