On the last day of the season, HC Davos Dynamo had the opportunity to earn themselves a place in the VHL playoffs. They received a huge amount of help when the night before, the New York Americans lost to basement dwelling Moscow, essentially putting Davos in control of their own destiny. If they won their remaining games, they'd be in. Anything else, and they'd need a little help. Well, in the end, it doesn't even matter. The Dynamo lost their last two games, ending any hope of a playoff birth.

"Yeah, it sucks," said rookie defenseman Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen. "

With how we did at the beginning of the season, no one was thinking we'd have a chance at the playoffs. Shoot, at the beginning of the season, we were all saying the right thing about how we're going to contend for the playoffs, but I don't know how much we really believed it. To have a shot at the end and not come through hurt a little bit."

At the end of the day, it's probably better for the Dynamo in the long run to miss the playoffs, as they'll most likely have a better draft pick as a result.
