Selections for Team Canada for the S66 WJC were announced last night, which included a couple last minute surprise cuts/adds. One of the non surprises however, was San Diego Marlins star LW Edgar Tannahill. Picked up during the expansion draft from Saskatoon, Edgar has been an absolute beast during the Marlins inaugural season. So far after 22 games, he leads the team with 16 goals, and add up his 13 assists, you get his also team leading 31 points. He has already broken his rookie goal total, and is only 5 points away from breaking his previous point total, with not even half the amount of games played.

Whether the Marlins need a big goal, a big kill, or just all around solid play, they look to Edgar. He is killer on the power play, and clutch on the penalty kill as well, with 3 power play goals and 2 shorties. Team Canada is gaining an absolute gamer for the upcoming tournament, and they will not regret selecting him. Put him down as your early MVP candidate, because he will not disappoint.
