Twenty-Four games into Season 37, the rookie race is becoming more and more clear.  Three players seem to be competing for the Stolzschweiger Trophy.  Two of them come from the Season 37 draft class, and the other comes from the Season 35 draft class.

The former first overall pick in Season 37 is leading all rookies in scoring, and is third in the defensive scoring race.  He is also in the top 20 for points in the league.  His lack of great defensive stats may prevent voters to pick him at the end of the season.

Forward - Tom Slaughter, New York Americans

Tom Slaughter was an early favourite for the Stolzschweiger based on fan voting.  Slaughter was projected to be a top power forward, but has yet to lay a hit in Season 37.  He has, however, been deadly in the face-off circle.  Slaughter is currently second in rookie scoring, and is top ten in face-off percentage.

Defense - Tyler Owens, Helsinki Titans

Tyler Owens is one of the older rookies in the rookie class this season, but he has impressed management with his fearlessness blocking shots.  He is currently leading the entire league in blocked shots, and is third in the league in rookie scoring.  The one thing that could hold him back from the ballot is his minus 22 on a rebuilding Helsinki team.
