PotatoKing 46
Tates Drafted by Riga Reign "It was a pleasant surprise to be selected this early." As the VHL Entry Draft reached the middle of the 2nd round, prospective winger Jeff Tates got to hear his name go 21st overall, as Riga Reign's first selection in the S68 draft. His nomination came between Sigard Gunnar and Aamon Grim's picks respectively, landing him higher up in the draft class than predicted by most. The young Canadian forward, while bearing a nervous smile, confided with the media that both his new GM and he intended for him to stay in the VHLM an additional season to help with his development, making him a potential strong choice in the upcoming VHLM dispersal draft. When asked what his plans were, Tates admitted: "Moving all the way to Latvia is a big move but I have my family's support. I'm really excited to be able to play for the Reign, they have great players and are a strong contender in the league."
