MWHazard 85
Notes from the Road Franklin Cartwright, The Athletic Houston Some brief thoughts from my notebook as I make the long trip from Halifax to Houston (by air, even- thanks Athletic budget team): 1. The Bulls are the best team overall, but some nights I wonder if they’re even a good offensive hockey team. Tonight in Halifax was a fantastic example. One goal against a team that’s bottom half in preventing them. One goal loss. They’re still way too reliant on Sean McGee and the defense corps. 2. Haz Howe is getting some interest as a Season 70 draft prospect. The kid is raw, but not unteachable. If he can get some more development and some regular work, there might be hope for at least one of Houston’s bargain bin bonanza (you can’t tell me that wasn’t ownership cheaping out) to pan out. 3. That being said, even if the Howe brothers are simply an amusing diversion from serious VHLM hockey, they’re definitely not going to be forgotten anytime soon. In the third period of a close game, Midas Howe was seen poking Beo Howe’s noggin with his stick from two seats down, then pointing at Nano Howe every time. The funny part was, Nano Howe was poking someone with his stick: Doc Howe, who blamed Mo Howe, and, well, you see where this went.
