Unsung hero - Vegas Aces Defense

With a record of 13-45-5, it has been a really tough year for the Las Vegas Aces. However, there have been a few bright spots for the team, you could call them the unsung heroes of the team. 

 

D Mike van Stronk - The defenseman has put up 33 goals and 54 assists in his 63 games, that is right, he has 87 points as a defenseman, can you believe that? What a crazy statistic considering what the team has really done. The overall of the team is not great, the power play is just over 20% and the PK is abysmal. van Stronk has been a great bright spot for the team, he is one of the unsung heroes. 

 

D Blacker Velvet - Similarly to van Stronk, Velvet has 79 points in 63 games. It is weird how the top 2 players on the Aces in points are both defenseman. I think that this has really been a great look for their VHL teams who will want a lot from these guys. The numbers are there, but we will have to see about the activity.
