SlapshotWrangler 864 Posted December 31, 2019 Share Posted December 31, 2019 SASKATOON - Maybe you were just as confused as most Wild fans when they saw a goalie wearing a black mask for the playoffs. Some fans were wondering who this new guy was. Well, until they saw the name on the back. It turns out it was still Jacques Lafontaine but his plain white mask had been replaced with a mostly black goalie mask. Was it a superstition? "Well, uh, one day I left my goalie helmet out and the next, it was like this." It turns out that the black mask wasn't a new paint job. It turns out those are just a bunch of Sharpie marker markings. This was evident by the fact that some of the mask was still a bit white. So far, the new mask has seemed to work well for the young goaltender. The Wild recently swept the Yukon Rush. Now if only we could convince him to change his horrendous pads...
