Seventy-Four 16
DEVELOPING STORY - Despite the Blades winning their first two games, Hunter and Hudson are not playing on the same line despite their General Manager Damon Wolfe promising them that honor. In the first game of the season and the Blade's home opener, the fans were eager to see rookie star Tyson Stokes make his debut and see the brand new revived roster, including the two Backenbauers brother who would hopefully live up to Hanz. In fact, Hanz Backenbauer's number (#4) was retired before the national anthem and fittingly enough it was the brother's first game as a Blade. However, the two Blades played on different lines, Hunter on the second while Hudson was stuck on the third. Many fans were angered and cheered, "We want Hudson! Da-da-da-da! We want Hunter! Da-da-da-da!" Hudson elected not to make a comment despite usually being very vocal but was notiably upset about the lines and could be seen getting into an agruement with Damon Wolfe during practice. Hunter said to VHL.com, "As a member of the Backenbauer family, I feel disrespected." However, Hunter says this will not be enough to drive the Backenbauers out of Brampton or at least, not yet. We'll have to see if Wolfe can act on this second chance accordingly.
