After the first few games of the season, reporters caught up with Helsinki Titans defenseman, Erik Summers for a brief interview.

How do you feel about the team, coming out of training camp?

I think we have a great thing going. There is a lot of young talent on the roster and enough veterans to keep us grounded and in the right mindset through the tough stretches.

What needs to change this season to improve over last year?

We were in a really tough spot last season, losing so many of the guys who had been the core of this team for so long. It isn't easy losing Kronos as well now, but we have a new core forming and I think they will take us far.

What thoughts do you have on your performance so far this season?

Last season, I led the team in scoring, I led the league in assists, and I was in the conversation for every defensive trophy. And yet, we didn't make the post season and I barely received a single vote for the subjective trophies. They knew something I had forgotten, having great stats doesn't mean you're the best. So far this season, I haven't had great stats at all. However, we are winning, and I feel like I am playing better than I ever have. Maybe the number will come, and maybe they wont, but if I am propelling the team to success, then I am happy.
