Hi, It's Joromir Jogr here.

I was asked to tell a story and what are the odds! I just happened to have one story I wanted to share with you. It's about my old hockey stick.

This stick was everything to me when I was a kid. Old wooden hockey stick which was first owned by my great-grandfather. He carved it from scratch after the second world war. Luckily, he was still alive when I was old enough to listen and this was one of the stories he told me. Man, how I miss his stories now.

But the stick, yeah THE stick. My Great-grandfather (Jyrymir) first gave the stick to his son, Jurumir. Jurumir used to play in Czechoslovakia's national team with the stick even though national team offered brand new Koho's. Jurumir refused to use those because his father's self-made hockey stick was simply the best. Jurumir won many championships and still to this day, you can smell the champagne from the stick if you sniff it closely.

After Jurumir retired, the stick was so battle-scarred that it couldn't be used to play hockey. Jurumir gave it to his son Jirimir who just hang it in his trophy cabinet. Years passed and the stick was dusting in trophy cabinet untouched, until one winter when I was 6 years old Jurumir decided to give the stick a try. Jurumir gave the stick a big fat old school slapshot and not very surprisingly, it broke in half. Jurumir stood silent on the ice and after 5 minutes he picked up the pieces and gave the stick to me and told me to never lose it.

Still to this day, the pieces of this legendary hockey stick stand in my trophy cabinet. And forever they will.
