diacope 1,696
It was a mission for both managers of the Riga Reign to keep their playoff streak intact at the start of the season, it was going to be a lot harder than previous season with the lack of veteran talent but the players and fans knew they could do it, even after seeing Acyd Burn go to HC Davos. Record: 9-10-2 W L L W L W W W SOL W L L SOL W L W L W L L L The Reign couldn't win back-to-back games and after 21 games they only won 3 in a row once and had lost 3 in a row twice. Although Riga didn't blow up completely and the possibly of making the playoffs was still there, the team just didn't know if they had enough to make an impact in the playoffs too. Strategies were switched and Will Clarke was acquired to fill the void on defense. Record: 14-3-0 W W W L W W W W L L W W W W W W W Things would change fast after salt was cleaned out of previous wounds as we watched Riga tear through the league with determination, despite losing 7-4 to the Prague Phantoms along the way. With a super hot streak the rest of the season looked bright. Record: 9-4-5 L L W L W W OTL W W W OTL W L W SOL W OTL OTL The league took notice after seeing the Reign fly up the standings and other contenders would follow suit and change up their strategies, make moves and set themselves up for the playoffs, Riga wouldn't sway too much though and racked up more points to keep themselves at the top of the standings but the team was getting tired and games were getting harder and harder as the season progressed and they would end this week playing in 4 different overtime games in their last 8 games. Record: 7-8-1 W W W L L W W L L W L L L L SOL W Going out like they came in Riga had similar troubles as they did at the beginning of the season, these aren't the problems a contending team wants to have so close to the playoffs but fans and players remained hopeful after watching their team battle back all season to get where they are now.
