Not only did he lose the lead for top GAA and SV% in 2 games but he and the Calgary Wranglers had a devastating series loss in the play-ins of the playoffs. Despite the high stats, this could be the worst season’s in Lafontaine’s career performance-wise. “I guess I got tired or I ended up losing focus near the end of the season. Everyone on our team worked hard but a couple costly mistakes cost us the season. My job is to stop the puck. To put it simply, I failed to do my job. That’s why I have to practice harder so that we can win it all this season. Calgary has been amazing to me and I’d love to repay them with a championship or at least something to cheer about.” We’ll see if he and the Wranglers can pull it off.
