A look at the dispersal draft

                                          Everyone is always talking about how the VHL entry draft is going to go down, because that's obviously more important. But no one really talks about the VHLM dispersal draft that much. I find that the GMs and AGMs in the M care about their jobs a lot more than the guys in the VHL do, probably because a lot of them are pretty new to their job. Anyway, it looks like the dispersal draft will be a tight race. 

 

                         Even first overall will be a battle. Sanderson isn't quite at that level, having created a week or two after these guys. Those guys who might get first overall are Hex Rose and Kristof Welch. Erin Esurance isn't that far behind, but it's up to Rose and Welch to decide the first two picks.

 

                                   The third pick is Esurance, no doubt. She is right in the middle of tier 1 and tier 3, making her the only player in tier 2. 

 

                  Fourth and fifth overall will be a dogfight between Sanderson and Eeli Rantanen. I'm going to say that, however close we may get in TPE, Rantanen will get picked higher because of stats. Rantanen and Esurance both play for the Hounds, a rebuilder, which gives them a massive advantage over guys like Rose and Sanderson who are buried under capped players on contending teams. Esurance and Rantanen get more ice time than Rose and Sanderson; they get more points. Rose is on like the 3rd line on a stacked Aces offense, and Sanderson is buried under another stacked offense in Saskatoon. So I think we have a pretty clear idea of what the top five will look like.
